This one is about 10 food that are supposedly the most disliked.

1. Liver: Agreed, but it’s funny, they don’t mention the smell.

2. Blue Cheese: I hate the stuff normally, but I like it when a little is cooked into hambugers. The small is mostly cooked out, and it does add a nice subtle flavor.

3. Eggplant: Really? I love the stuff. There is an Italian resaurant here that puts pickled eggplant on their salads and I love that stuff. I also love Baba Ghanoush, and Eggplant parmasian.

4. Okra: Another one I have to say really? to. It’s great fried and I strongly prefer Okra Gumbo.

5. Sardines: Can’t say if I’ve ever had them. I do like anchovies, particularly on Salads.

6. Lima Beans: Okay… Ham and beans anyone?

7. Brussle Sprouts: Baby cabbages. Good by themselves, best with cheese sauce. Butter and pepper with just a bit of vinegar or lemon juice is also very good.

8. Grits: Hot Malt-O-Meal is breakfast grits in a box. I would bet more people have had them, and like them,  than realize it. I haven’t had cheese grits yet, but they are supposed to be very good.

9. Hard Boiled Eggs: They also fail to mention the smell here. Odd considering the similarity to old farts. I hate these things. I rarely eat eggs that aren’t scrambled.

10. Beets: I love pickled beets. They are also good on salads, and in soup.

Well I’m 3 for 10 so I guess they missed the mark with me.

The one that set me off this time is called 20 secrets men keep. By Rich Santos on marie claire. Just a page I linked to off yahoo, couldn’t help myself. I had to see just what secrets we are all keeping.

These people go beyond that into the realm of just being bad people, and hypocritical ones to boot.

They say they are Christians, and the Christian church is supposed to be built on love. God is Love…right.

The news story here is that these people are protesting the funerals of Soldiers. Men and Women who have been killed in service to their country. Now I have always been against the war in Iraq. It had nothing to do with 9/11,  Afghanistan is another story, they KNEW some of the terrorists where from there

Bottom line is while I don’t agree with where the Government sent them, I have never held issue with the military it’s self. I wish it didn’t need to exist, but I have come to realize that the idea of peace is nothing but a dream. Humans can’t seem to live without conflict for long. So I hold no issue with the military.

Back on track. These “people” are protesting the funerals of people. Does it really need to be any more complicated than that? It doesn’t matter who they were, or how they died. They were still people. Deserving of as much respect as anyone else. Respect afforded to their family if nothing else.

I take that back partially. These protesters deserve not one iota of respect.

Now lets look at them some more, at least as much as my stomach can hold up to it.

As a Kansas born, raised, and still living man, I am ashamed that these fools call the same state as me home.

They protest with signs that read things like “Thank God For Dead Soldiers”, “Thank God For IEDs”. If you don’t know an IED is an Improvised Explosive Device, rigged bombs. They are responsible for many, if not most, of the deaths in Iraq.

I would like to see someone rig an IED or three in front of their church on sunday. Nice and powerful. Set it up so it goes off when they are leaving. Let a few of their members get blown to bits and pieces and see how they like IEDs then. They want to Protest the soldiers funerals? Let’s make a few funerals for them to go to. Then people can protest their funerals.

Better yet, these people deserve the same kind of treatment as the one in Waco got. I’m all for the slaughter of wacko extremists. Lets see some BLOOD!

Now you might say, Ryan, I know you speak out against the queers yourself… NO I don’t. I speak against their behavior, which I view as being purposefully being done to make others uncomfortable. I have repeatedly said I have no issue with them beyond that fact I think they are annoying, and at certain levels of behavior, nasty. Gay people are not a big deal.

Many, maybe even most other straight people would agree.

The thought I had was not this, it was who is really making a bigger deal out of being gay? Us… or them?

Now you might not understand what I mean by that, but lets take a moment to think on it.

Who is usually the instigator in straight vs gay battles? If you actually pay attention, most of the time it’s the gay person doing something to set off other people.

Now their remark is that people need to be more tolerant, because them being gay is no big deal.

But if your being gay is really no big deal then why do you feel a need to be so “in OUR face” about it?

For example, this situation with the lesbian girl wanting to go to the prom with her girlfriend. I guess if that’s what you want it shouldn’t be too big a deal, people will be too busy with their own action to care what you are doing. She  wants to go wearing a tux… now that, is a big deal. Why? I hear you ask. Simple. Going in a tux it’s no longer about going to a dance with someone you like, it’s about making a statement, about getting people’s attention. Attention many people don’t want to give you. You are trying to force a reaction out of people, and unless you are a performer of some sort, there is no reason to do that.

The school board is catching all kinds of shit over it, and maybe to a degree they deserve it, but why does no one have the balls to say anything against the girl?

Wearing a tux is a choice. A choice she knew would cause problems, if she really didn’t think anyone would notice, she is an idiot. There is no reason for her to want to wear a tux in the first place other than making that aforementioned statement. The use of the term LibTard (liberal retard) got me to wondering if the word liberal was in the same boat as Socialism. I know what the right wingers think it means, but I got to wondering if it might not also be another word that they throw around without even really knowing what it means.

What ever is the world coming to when 22 year old athletes don’t act like saints just because they are at the Olympics?!

Let’s get something straight here, the athletes haven’t changed, the ability to record them has. Not that long ago a bouncer could keep the press out of the clubs because they had to lug around big bulky cameras. Now anyone with a cellphone can snap shots of anyone, doing anything, anywhere.

I mean, we are talking about people that make a living playing games, and doing things most people leave behind in high school, except maybe as a hobby. They are not heroes. I’m kinda tired of the way people put athletes up on pedestals. What have they ever really done to deserve the praise they get, or the ridicule for that matter?
Instead of focusing on a career in the “long view” they choose to work their asses’ off training for fame and fortune early in life, they hope.

Now I am not trying to take away their hard work. Nor their dedication. I’m sure before events the top competitors are the picture of “good behavior”, but why do so many people seem to think they should be like that all the time?

They are still human. Scotty Lago was done at the Olympics. He competed and won a Medal, he deserved to have his celebration. What did he get? Embarrassed by some dick wad with a camera, and an early trip back home as his way of apologizing for something he shouldn’t need to apologize for.

Some people even think he should have is medal taken away.

First there was the Snowboarder that got bitched out about not dressing formal, and making a statement that the Olympics are just another competition to him. He was forced to make a public apology over this. Why? He’s a snowboarder. It’s not like the snowboarding community doesn’t already have the X-Games.

Then there’s the thing about the hockey player with the painted helmet. Ok, he has Miller time on there, that one I understand, but the rest of the stuff was patriotic, or a tribute. How is that a problem?

Then there was a story from the last winter Olympics about a guy that was banned from that years competitions because he was using a drug to try and keep from going bald. BALD! How in the flying fuck is that going to do anything to his ability to compete?!

Today a female luger (one who is in the luge) can’t compete because she was .2kg off on extra weight for her gear. Apparently if they weigh less than 75kg they can bring up to 75% of the difference in extra weight to even things up with the larger competitors. She was off by less than half a pound.
Should she have made damn sure before she went? Yes, but that is no reason to kick her from the event instead of letting the extra weight be removed.

I am so very sorry, but the Olympics has gotten out of control with all the damn regulations, rules, and everything else. Like everything else it’s become a way for a city to make a shit load of money, it’s not about the athletes anymore, it’s about who can walk away with the biggest profits.

It is my opinion that athletes should start a strike against the Olympics until the people that run it get it through their thick skulls that they are not the reason people go to, and/or watch the Olympics.
Protest, picket, whatever has to be done to get things back under control.
